Have you seen water being wasted?

Hello there! The idea of reading long #Save water articles seems boring, isn’t it? But don’t you think it’s important for us to address water problems when more than 40% population of earth can’t enjoy the same cold shower which kick starts our day. So, here is a super short way for you. Analyse these four day-to-day scenarios which all of us face and then decide what is to be done.

1.  We all look stunning, don’t we? It’s just that we realize it while we pout, scowl, wink or display our strangely dazzling teeth in front of the mirror. What we miss is the sound of plopping water while we are busy brushing, cleaning or god knows doing any xyz thing in the sink. This  bit of negligence leads to aqua loss at an astonishing rate of 6 litres/min.

  2.  Post eating a finger-lickingly scrumptious meal, what’s left is some soiled dishes to wash. This herculean task can be made simple by chucking all the dishes into the dishwasher despite it operating at full capacity. Abracadabra! Within minutes spotless and sparkling utensils come out. Sorry! But that does not work that way. Any dishwasher takes a minimum of 45 minutes to clean and uses up to 50 litres of water irrespective of the load being complete or not.

3.How often do we notice droplets of water originating from a tap and going down the drain? Come on! Exercise your brains. It happens almost every day, doesn’t it? Let me tell you why. It happens simply because all of us are in a hurry most of the time and find it too difficult to twist the knobs.

   4.  A shower relieves us of exhaustion and charges our spirit with new enthusiasm. How long should this rejuvenation process take place? Well ethically it shouldn’t be more than a couple of minutes but on average most people cherish a duration of 20 minutes. They’re worried about Rio and Tokyo being able to make it together to the end in the popular serial Money heist, I mean busy rosy dreaming. Now these rosy dreams cost their water tanks roughly 130 litres of water.

These were some of the most common incidents in our life, besides this there are infinite more such situations like a nice tub bath, usage of recreational water toys, accidental spilling or wasting some water taken in a glass. According to Worldometer the amount of water being widrawn per year is rising by multiple folds. With new types of bathroom fittings flooding the market, water which is changing from a necessity to a privilege. Unfortunately, this privilege is becoming more limited these days. The very well known prediction of the WW3 being fought over water scarcity provided concrete evidence for this fact. Now all I want to say is that we should become a bit more responsible try to bring small changes. For that here are some innovative tips:-

Habitual Changes

·       Drink all the water poured in the glass

·      Designate a water bottle and glass for drinking water to prevent dirtying and then washing other utensils.

·       Wash eatables or other things in a tub and use the leftover water to moisturize plants.

·       Use the small flush button while going for a short job and if possible install a urinal in your washroom. This will prove to be much more hygienic and save water at the same time.

·       Keep a bucket in front of you and use the collected water for other chores

Other Fantastic Methods

·       Water your plants at the coolest time of the day and only when they truly need it.

·       Use leftover water for watering plants.

·       Choosing efficient fixtures: Aerating your faucets, investing in low flow toilets and selecting water efficient shower heads and opting for water sense rated washing machines and dish washers can cut water usage upto 50%.

·       Use native plants for your garden, they are easy to maintain and require lesser water.

·       Reduce the amount of clothes you wear, reuse paper, cardboard, glass and other essential materials.

·       Build a small raingarden in your backyard. They help filter polluted water before letting it seep in the ground. They are very easy to maintain with almost no cost.

·       Last but not the least spread awareness and motivate others to save water so that we can make the best possible benefit of the resources provided to us.

So that must be quite an information blast. We hope you now feel fantastic and are ready to fight your daily water war. BEST OF LUCK :)

My most memorable journey

Before Leaving Home! My feet carrying over 200 pounds and my stomach dealing with different types of specimens of fatty, oily and junk foods, this was all about my lifestyle six years ago. All this continued until when I was pulled out of my comfort zone and sent to a place believed to be a jail for naughty children. This place was none  other than a boarding school. Initial Changes! Initially, the thought of being separated from home sent shivers down my spine. Every hack, like crying profusely, not eating or trying to run away, turned useless. Then slowly all those cries turned into giggles and the same bad food became mouth-watering because of the voracious hunger from the exhaustion of games time. My clothes which earlier used to be neat and tidy were now torn and dirty. The spick and span Dorms converted into Gas chambers because of the smelly shoes and socks which we hardly changed. Every table in the classroom became a perfect masterpiece of ...

Binge watching YouTube is not Good?

Binge-watching has hit the 2020 world worse than Coronavirus. Hunkering down on cushy mattresses and cozy blankets, people have made 'watching videos' their ‘Drug of Choice’. At this time, youtubers are having a gala time when their views, likes, shares and subscribers are skyrocketing. In addition to that, YouTube is sheltering 80% more traffic in the first quarter of this year as compared to the previous one. Certainly, that should mean that every quality content publisher on YouTube, who ranks well on a niche should get decent amount of attention. Especially when there are billions craving for audio-visual content. Viewers increase but the Views don't Before the Coronavirus crisis, binge watchers had an appetite for a minimum of 7 videos every time they visit the YouTubian colony. Got shocked right? Now see, YouTube managed to colonise roughly 2 billion minds as per 2018, so that accounts to 14 billion views per month for our fellow YouTubers prior to lock down every...

World's Dumbest Problem

Wasting food is not a good idea! This fact is very well embossed in the sub-conscious mind of every human, but we all still end up doing it. Some rattle brains such as fussy kids eating in the college cafeteria, couples out on a date or maybe some friends enjoying a party, always end up with leftovers on their plate. According to them, justice is done to the unconsumed eatables by simply chucking them into the bin. Then there are people who say that they never waste food, but never live up to their claim.  Ask yourself a question, “When was the last time I wasted food?”. Probably most of us wouldn’t even bother to look at what’s left in the dishes. Long drives excite most of us, don’t they? During those lovely rides across cities, we are often welcomed by smelly streets, piles of garbage and polluting waste disposal sites. That moment we  immediately roll up the windows to stop the ghastly odour from entering our nostrils and start fidgeting with our mobile...
